If you have got nowhere to put a skip, this is the answer. We arrive with the skip on the wagon, you load it while we wait, and it goes straight back out with us. No council permit, no lights and markings, and nothing sat outside your house for a fortnight collecting other people's rubbish.
Because the skip never leaves the vehicle, there is nothing to apply for. That removes days of lead time and the permit fee.
No skip on the road, no obstruction to neighbours, and nobody else filling it overnight.
A typical wait is 30 to 60 minutes. Have everything ready by the door and it will be quicker still.
Terraced roads, town centres, red routes, conservation areas and anywhere parking is a fight.
Three situations, mainly. The first is no off-road space — a terraced street where the only option is a road permit, and a road permit means a fee, a lead time, and lights and markings. The second is a location where a static skip simply is not viable: a red route, a busy main road, a town-centre street with loading restrictions, or a conservation area where the council is unlikely to be enthusiastic. The third is speed — if you want it gone today rather than in a fortnight, Wait & Load does it in one visit.
There is a fourth reason that people mention more often than you might think: nobody else can fill it. A skip left on a street overnight will attract other people's rubbish, and you pay for their disposal. With Wait & Load that cannot happen.
The wagon arrives, the skip stays on the back, and you load. A standard wait covers most domestic jobs comfortably — a garage clear-out, a bathroom strip, a garden tidy. If you think you need longer, tell us when you book and we will price it in rather than surprising you on the day.
The single biggest thing you can do to keep the cost down is to be ready. Have everything stacked by the front of the property before we arrive, not still in the loft. Get a second pair of hands if there is anything heavy. A job that takes two people forty minutes takes one person two hours, and you are paying for the wagon either way.
Same rules as any skip: level with the top rail, no higher. Heavy items and rubble go in first and get spread across the base rather than heaped at one end. Break down bulky items where you can — a dismantled wardrobe takes a third of the space of an assembled one. Our driver will help you get the last awkward pieces in and will tell you if the load needs adjusting before it travels.
Wait & Load usually costs a bit more per yard than a standard skip hire, and then you have to set against that the permit fee you are not paying, the lights and markings you are not hiring, and the days of waiting for a permit application that you are not doing. For a lot of the terraced streets in Widnes, St Helens, Liverpool and Wigan, it comes out level or cheaper once everything is counted — and it is finished the same day.
Worth being clear about, because people sometimes book the wrong one. With Wait & Load, you load the skip and we wait. If you want us to do the carrying and loading, that is a waste clearance — different service, different price, and the right answer if the items are heavy, upstairs, or there is nobody available to shift them.
