We deliver skips, we clear houses, and we take waste to a licensed transfer station where it gets sorted properly. That is the whole business. Everything on this website is done by our own lorries and our own people, which is why we can tell you on the phone whether we can get to you today rather than promising to "check with the depot".
A fair chunk of the skip hire industry works on brokerage. You ring a national number, they take your money, and then they find a local firm to do the job for less than you paid. If something goes wrong you are talking to a call centre that has never seen your street. We are the local firm. When you ring, you get the office.
We are a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency, registration CBDU522854 — which you can check on the public register in one click, and fully insured. Under the UK's duty of care rules, the person who produced the waste stays legally responsible for it — so if a cheap man-with-a-van flytips your old sofa in a lay-by and the letters inside it have your name on, the fine lands on your doormat, not his.
That is not a scare story, it is how the law works. Every job we do comes with a waste transfer note, which is your evidence that it went somewhere legitimate. Ask for one from anybody you hire, not just us. If they cannot produce it, that tells you everything.
Skips are tipped at a licensed transfer station and sorted: timber, metals, cardboard, plastics, green waste, plasterboard and inert materials like brick and soil all get separated for recovery. The proportion we divert from landfill sits around 92%, and the aim is to keep pushing it up. Nothing we collect is ever dumped, buried on site, or handed to a third party we have not checked.
Everything runs from the yard in Runcorn, out to 15 miles. That takes in the whole of Halton, most of Cheshire and Merseyside, and the western edges of Greater Manchester and Lancashire — 19 towns with their own pages, and plenty more besides. Delivery is included within 10 miles; past that there is a per-mile charge you can see before you pay.

I would highly recommend Smiths Waste Removals & Skip Hire, placed the enquiry on their site and someone was talking to me with in minutes. They went above and beyond by asking for photos on what i needed the skip for so they could advise on what size I needed, very friendly and helpful through out the whole experience, reasonably priced aswell, i wouldn't use anyone else now.
