What we collect and why

Website measurement, and what we deliberately do not do
We count page views and actions like clicking the phone number, using our own software on our own server. It sets no cookies and builds no advertising profile. Visitors are identified by a hash that is rebuilt daily from a rotating key, so the same person on two different days cannot be linked, and the hash cannot be turned back into an IP address.
If Google Analytics has been switched on for this site, that is a separate third-party service with its own cookies and privacy policy, and a cookie banner will appear.
Who we share it with
Only where the job needs it: our payment processor (Stripe), the licensed transfer station that receives your waste, the local council if you have asked us to apply for a road permit, and our accountant. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to marketing companies.
How long we keep it
Booking and invoice records are kept for six years because HMRC requires it. Waste transfer notes are kept for two years under environmental regulations. Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after twelve months. Website statistics are aggregated and pruned automatically.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (where we are not legally required to keep it), object to how we are using it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
