Hiring a skip should be the easy part of your project. Pick a size, tell us when you need it and where it is going, and we will drop it, leave it with you for a fortnight, then take it away and recycle as much of it as we can. No hidden charges, no waiting in all day, and a real person on the end of the phone if anything changes.

Our standard hire runs up to 14 days. Finished on Saturday? Ring us and we will collect early. Need longer? Just say — extensions are usually no trouble.
If your skip has to sit on the road we deal with the council application on your behalf. You do not need to work out which department to email.
Everything goes to a licensed transfer station where it is sorted and recycled as far as it can be. You get a waste transfer note; the landfill gets as little as possible.
This is the question we get asked more than any other, and the honest answer is that most people underestimate. A kitchen refit always produces more than it looks like it will, and soil is heavier and bulkier than anyone expects. As a rule of thumb, if you are torn between two sizes, the bigger one is nearly always cheaper than hiring a second skip.
Our 2 yard mini skip holds roughly 20 to 25 bin bags and is the one to pick when space is the constraint rather than volume — a short driveway, a shared access, a small bathroom strip-out. The 4 yard midi is our most popular size by a distance and handles the majority of household projects: a kitchen, a decent garden clearance, a garage that has been filling up for a decade. The 6 yard builders skip is the one to order if you are dealing with rubble, soil, brick or roofing waste, because it is built for weight rather than bulk. The 8 yard maxi is for volume — house renovations, shop refits, office clearances — but it is not the one for hardcore. Heavy materials in an 8 yard will hit the weight limit long before the skip is full, which is why we will steer you towards a 6 yard if you tell us it is all rubble.
On your own driveway, hardstanding or land: no permit, no paperwork, no extra cost. That is the simplest scenario and it covers most of our bookings.
On a public road or pavement: you need a permit from the council, and the skip needs lights and markings. We arrange the permit for you as part of the booking — you tell us the address, we deal with the council. Lead times vary between authorities, so give us a few working days where you can. Halton Borough Council, Warrington Borough Council, Cheshire West and Chester, Knowsley, St Helens, Liverpool and Wirral all have different processes and we deal with all of them regularly.
If a permit is not practical — a red route, a busy town-centre street, a conservation area — our Wait & Load service is the answer. We bring the wagon, you load it, and it leaves with us. No permit, nothing sat outside your house for a fortnight.
Nearly all non-hazardous household, garden and construction waste: wood, metal, furniture, cardboard, plastics, general household waste, green waste, soil, hardcore, brick, rubble, tiles, packaging and DIY waste. Mix it as you like within reason — we sort it at the transfer station.
Two items need a heads-up rather than a refusal. Plasterboard has to be kept separate from general waste under environmental regulations, so tell us when you book and we will sort the arrangement. Mattresses can go, but they carry a separate disposal charge because the processing facilities charge us extra for them — we will always tell you the figure up front.
The genuine no list is short: asbestos, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, liquid paint, chemicals, oils and fuels, batteries, tyres, fridges and freezers, and clinical waste. Fridges and freezers we can still take away — just as a separate collection rather than in the skip, because the degassing has to be done properly.
There is nothing clever going on. Each skip size has a flat price that covers delivery, up to fourteen days hire, collection and disposal within our free local radius. Beyond that radius we add a straightforward per-mile rate, calculated from your postcode at the moment you book — so a job fourteen miles out pays the flat rate plus four miles, and you can see that on screen before you commit to anything. Extra days, a road permit or a mattress are added as separate visible lines. What you see in the booking summary is what you pay.
Waste has to sit level with the top rail of the skip. Not heaped, not "just a bit over" — level. It is not us being difficult: a skip loaded above the rail cannot be legally or safely transported, and if the driver arrives to find one, he cannot lift it. That means a wasted journey for us and a delay for you. If you have run out of room, ring us before you start stacking it up. Swapping to a bigger skip or booking an exchange is quick, and it is always cheaper than a failed collection.
We keep slots free for short-notice work wherever the fleet allows. Online bookings go from tomorrow onwards, but if you need a skip today, ring the office — if we have a unit free and a wagon in the area, we will get it to you. Runcorn, Widnes and the immediate patch have the best odds, simply because we are already there.
Several of these we will still take away — just as a separate collection, because they have to go to a different licensed facility. Ring and ask.

The booking system checks our actual fleet, not a guess. If the skip you want is out, it will offer you the nearest date or a size that is free.
We ring ahead so you are not stuck in waiting. The driver places it where you want it and boards the surface if needed.
Fill it to the top rail, not above — overloaded skips cannot legally be lifted. Then call, and we will collect.
