Two things need mentioning when you book rather than after the fact. Plasterboard has to be kept separate from general waste under environmental regulations. Mattresses can go in, but carry a separate disposal charge because the processing facilities charge us extra for them.
What genuinely cannot go in: asbestos, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, liquid paint, chemicals, oils and fuels, batteries, tyres, fridges and freezers, and clinical waste. Fridges we will still take away — just as a separate collection, because the degassing has to be done properly.
If your skip is going on your own driveway or land in Knutsford, you do not need a permit and there is nothing to arrange. If it has to sit on a public road or pavement, Cheshire East Council needs to issue a permit first, and the skip needs lights and markings.
